SRF BERNICE KAIBETONY & ATTITUDE SCHOLARSHIPS

The Social Roots Foundation is committed to empowering Black and Indigenous communities through education by providing scholarships that directly invest in our future leaders. We recognize the systemic inequities that limit access to resources in our communities and aim to bridge this gap by giving back in meaningful ways. Our scholarships are designed to uplift students pursuing careers that will drive change, foster resilience, and create opportunities for others. Together, we can cultivate a brighter future by supporting those who will inspire and lead the way forward.

The Social Roots Foundation is proud to support Black women pursuing careers in mental, behavioral, and physical health fields through our scholarships. We believe that as a community, we have a shared responsibility to uplift and empower our students, ensuring they have the resources needed to thrive. By investing in their education, we are nurturing the next generation of healers and leaders who will transform and strengthen our communities for years to come. The ATTITUDE application will be available and open May 2025.

The Bernice Kaibetony Scholarship is dedicated to supporting Indigenous women and femmes pursuing careers in behavioral, mental, and physical health fields. Established in memory of Bernice Kaibetony, the mother of founder Roicia Banks, the scholarship honors her legacy as a passionate advocate for women’s education. Bernice tragically passed away from COVID-19, and this initiative continues her mission to empower and uplift future generations through education. The Bernice Kaibetony application will be available and open May 2025.
