ATTITUDE
A MENTAL HEALTH SUMMIT FOR AFRICAN AMERICAN WOMEN
Created by and for the African American community, Social Roots aims to challenge the ATTITUDE we as African American people have in our community surrounding mental and behavioral health. ATTITUDE take place every January and provides a safe space to learn, engage, and explore mental health concerns with African American women professionals.
This is a space that is intentional, informative, loving, and supportive. Participants will have the opportunity to choose from different relevant and culturally competent workshops presented by African American women professionals. ATTITUDE takes place every January in Phoenix, Arizona!

THE TALKING CIRCLE
The Talking Circle was created for the need of curating safe spaces for Indigenous people during the global pandemic. The Talking Circle incorporates traditional healing practices using traditional medicines and prayer.
The Talking Circle meets once a month online for storytelling, laughter, tears, and community.
MEDICINE WHEEL
The Medicine Wheel is a sacred symbol and teaching tool used by various Indigenous peoples in North America. It represents a holistic view of the universe, the interconnectedness of all things, and the cycles of life.
The wheel typically consists of ca circle divided into four quadrants, each associated with a cardinal direction, a season, a color, an element, an animal, and various other symbols and teachings. The Medicine Wheel is used for a variety of purposed including healing, prayer, ceremony, and personal growth.
SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship is dedicated to our Executive Director, Roicia Banks' mother who lost her battle to COVID-19 February 6, 2021. Tribal communities received little to no federal assistance to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 and as a result, the casualties were countless.
